Rhetorical Strategies

We plan to use logos in our arguments showing logical thought process of those who are affected by special treatment of athletes at Texas Christian University. Such as statistics of how many students are athletes with scholarships, or special treatment packages. We also plan to key into emotions by showing those who are non-athletes what they are missing and why it is unfair to them. Things such as free days off from school, better grades from teachers, more flexibility in their schedules and signing up for classes early. Ethos could also be used because I played basketball all four years of high school and I was treated specially and I can relate to athletes. I can also use ethos because I have had classes with student athletes at TCU and they have admitted to actual favoritism.

I really don't like group projects. I usually end up doing all the work because other team members don't do it or they don't do it right. I think I am usually really good at delegating tasks and organizing everyone, including deadlines. I like making presentations and speaking in front of people, especially if it is in a casual setting and it is something I am familiar with to talk about. I also am comfortable doing the grunt work as well and pulling together all thoughts and getting the information together. I am fairly flexible with what my roll will be.
